Le Vuong was born in Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) in 1952 and graduated from the GiaDinh National Fine Art College with a Master degree in 1977.  He now is a professor at the same institution. His paintings of still life objects are executed with meticulous detail, lending the works an almost photo-realistic quality. Le Vuong is a master of captivating the light and minute details such as a fold in a tablecloth or the rough surface of a rock. His paintings can be termed minimalist, as he removes all unnecessary objects from his compositions

Le Vuong’s focus is on still life of everyday Vietnamese objects. Whether it is the folds of a plain tablecloth or the everyday terracotta teapot, Le Vuong focuses on the most minuscule details of its objects attempting to show its integrity and bring forth its beauty of something so essential in everyday use but are often forgotten.

Le Vuong’s works are on permanent display at the Fine Arts Museum in Ho Chi Minh City and his paintings are held in private collections throughout Asia, Europe and North America. His works are regularly sold at international auctions including Christie’s and Sotheby’s.
